Hi Elisabeth and Helmut!
Jill and I are honoured to be adding our tributes to all the others on this occasion.
Between 1974 when Helmut engineered my album ‘Paid on the Nail’ [on an 8 track desk I believe], through to 2006 when I recorded the tracks for the latest album [this time on the SSL AWS 9000 with a potential of 192 simultaneous tracks!], 32 years has passed during which the route to Silverdale Mews has become very familiar.
All these years it has been evident to me that your work has been a genuine labour of love, not least Elisabeth’s cakes! There has always been a warm welcome, a genuine interest in the people who have passed through, and behind the scenes a wise mentoring of talent, not just in skills but in values and attitude. This is among many other things the gift of hospitality on a grand scale!
In my own recording sessions at ICC, especially in the pressure of projects with far reaching consequences like global March for Jesus, I have been very conscious of and grateful for the reality that ICC has not been just about facilities and services, but because of your prayerful oversight, a spiritual ‘safe haven’ where creativity can flow in an atmosphere of God’s presence.
You have not only successfully run a resource and a business with a ministry heart and purpose, and invested in people who are now investing in others, but demonstrated true Christian character along the way.
So much more could be said, but this is starting to sound like a job reference, so we’d better just say it’s a privilege to have known you over so many years, have a great sabbatical, wishing you God’s very best for the future,
Lots of love,
Graham and Jill Kendrick
