Greetings from Peter & Karen Martin

So here we are! At a milestone where massive change is about to happen and I wanted to add our thoughts to all those greetings that have been sent through.

Spring of 1988 Karen and I were at time in our lives where we thought God was leading us into full-time Christian work. How the Lord led through those next 6 months with us moving to Eastbourne in September 1988 to start work at ICC. Nearly 20 years ago! My first title was that of “General Manager” with the brief to grow our business activities and you always introduced me then as your “Number 2 and understudy!!!!”

How much has happened during these years. Throughout this time we have been constant prayer partners, confidents and close friends. Both Karen and I remember some of those prayer times when life was not easy and the four of us would get together to pray things through. It seems very surreal now for the time for you both to be leaving employment in ICC and moving on to pastures new. I know that in your hearts ICC will always hold a special place and that whatever you are going into you will have prayed about it fervently.

Throughout this time we have seen ICC grow probably beyond even our dreams. I wish I had kept record of how many prayers we have seen answered as a result of our weekly prayer times. Our God is faithful! I will miss these times more than can be told.

Both of you hold a very special place in our hearts which I doubt could ever be repeated with any one else. It has been my privilege, Helmut, to serve for so many years under your direction and to be able to continue the work in the future. Words seem so inadequate to describe this.

My hope is that you will both be regular visitors to work and family of ICC in the future. I always remember your stories Helmut of how in the early days trustees would come in and encourage you. I look forward to the same!

Our love and prayers go with you for the future and we will truly miss you more than words can ever tell.

With love and best wishes

Peter & Karen
