Greetings from Martin Smith

Helmut and Elisabeth are legends. They are legends because they leave behind them a huge legacy. When I was 17 I joined the studio on a YTS scheme and the first week I slept under the piano as I had no-where to stay in Eastbourne.
They were mum, dad, boss, friends, mentors, and a saving grace at that point of leaving home.
I have always been in awe of their integrity, the grace to mix business and spirituality is a rare gift and something that only few succeed in. Whenever I worked in studio 1 it was Helmut who would pop in and listen, bring affirmation, not neccessarily through words but by his presence. Elisabeth however would yelp and holler if she loved it and would reward her ‘boys’ with a cake the next day.
On this note this cake recipe has been untouched for years, if it aint broke don’t fix it I say, and so do thousands of session musos down the years.
It was a priviledge to have served under them for 5 years and what I learnt from them has made me what I am today, the way I approach songs, music, equipment, worship, business , church and family.
Thankyou for letting me be part of your family, I left Eastbourne but never left the family.
God Bless you for the years of sacrifice.
Much love
Martin Smith
